Super Bowl 2011 and Child Sex Trafficking

Superbowl 2011 'What Is The Dark Side?'

The Super Bowl has a Dark Side?

What could be ‘dark’ about the Packers and the Steelers in a game…in Dallas, Texas?

The Super Bowl is a chance for pimps to show off and rent their property..12 year olds are amongst them. We think of child sex trafficking as associated with other countries, surely not the United States.

The 2010 Super Bowl was held in Miami Beach, where they had an upsurge in young girls on the streets. It was reported that four times as many if not more of young women were on the streets, brought there by their pimps.

Where the girls are found, hooked  and then advertised

There are two online message boards that you should be aware of:  Backpage.com and Craigslist shows ads for escorts. Pimps look for the girls in the malls, Facebook and MySpace, targeting the ones who can be sucked in. They buy them shoes, purses and jewelry, then tell them they need help from the girls to make money back for everything they spent on them. That little girl is then sent to the strip club to dance for men her father’s and grandfather’s age. It’s a trap and getting out is nearly impossible.

Is Super Bowl evil? No, it’s just another large event that draws the pimps and human trafficking child slave rings to town looking to profit. It’s estimated that a young girl can make upwards of$1,000 in one night. She’ll never get to use any of it as her pimp pockets it all and sends her out again.

What am I supposed to do about it?

Look for the organizations that are in your area to support however you can. A great example is Street Grace for Exploited Children.

Look for organizations in Texas

Can you pray? Don’t stop there; some places need clothing, others food and money and volunteers are always welcome. This Sunday is Super Bowl 2011 in Dallas, Texas. Start finding out how you can help now. It’s just a few days before the game but there is still time.

Oh wow – I never would have thought of this side of the superbowl! We bleed black and gold around here. Now I know what I’ll be doing during the game rather than just cheering my steelers on – I’ll be praying and tweeting out this message.

      Hey, Kerri!
Child sex trafficking needs to be brought out into the daylight. Pimps can’t ‘make good money’ if people in the US begin to stand up and cry out. Thanks for standing up, Kerri!
