Child Sex Slave Trafficking-Help Stop It Now!

Last posting, I pointed to ‘luggage tags’ helping the child sex slave trafficking.  It’s a small way to participate but effective.

TassaTags

“Purchase a TassaTag, which are bright colored, fair trade certified luggage tags, to support ECPAT’s work and mission.  (ECPAT-USA, which stands for Ending Child Prostitution and Trafficking, is a network of organizations and individuals aiming to end the sexual exploitation of children.)

The tags are produced at The Regina Center in Nongkhai, Thailand with proceeds being returned to the women in the center. This enables the women to stay within their local communities, produce a steady income, and enroll their children in school. These three initiatives are essential components to preventing the trafficking of children. Tassatags can be found at http://www.tassatag.org/.”

And how about following ecpatusa on Twitter to enlarge the public campaign.  Such an easy thing to do!

Street GRACE 5 Ways continued……

I had taken information from the Street GRACE website which had listed the first two ways we can be involved in the child sex slave trafficking in our community.  It’s not just overseas anymore.  It’s here, 24-7, on street corners, and through online sources.

THIRD…..Mobilization

This is a call to action for churches throughout the Body of Christ.  “Street GRACE seeks to build defenses against the commercial sexual exploitation of children by educating congregations about CSEC (Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children) and equipping them with the tools needed to become mobilized in their communities. We recognize that children who are victims of sexual exploitation are often the unseen, unheard, and unacknowledged members of our communities. Their presence permeates every socio-economic level of society and at times, they are present in and around our churches. By galvanizing our resources, we seek to form a unified effort that offers ministry to these marginalized children and we invite churches throughout the body of Christ to join the alliance focused on eradicating this atrocity in our midst.”

FOURTH…..Supporting At-Risk Youth

Street GRACE is willing to inform you how to bring these ideas to your community.  “Children and youth, whether due to poverty, education, or family situations, are at risk for exploitation. We’re all called to protect the weak and the defenseless. Street GRACE works with partners in the community to support local churches, existing mentoring programs, or schools to reach out to Atlanta’s most vulnerable communities.”

FIFTH….Restoration

This is an amazing effort to reach the ‘sex slave’ children who are being trafficked in Atlanta, Georgia, (United States).  “Street GRACE works with our Community Partners to identify and support, financially or with volunteers, safe houses – nurturing environments where victims of child sex trafficking can receive treatment for their physical and psychological wounds, enabling them to resume normal lives as children and teens.”

They have been effectively reaching their community with this ‘template for success’.  They’ve involved businesses in the athletic area to bring youth at risk into sports where they feel like they belong, have mentors and can ‘make it’ without falling into the trafficking trap.  All of this may seem too large for you as one person.  But you can pick any of the five ways to help.

Ministers all over the world have picked up the cry to ‘save the children’ from slave trafficking.  Watch this video by Pastor Billy Joe Daugherty of Victory Christian Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Listen to his call to action for Christians everywhere.
