Average Age of Child Sex Trafficking in US is 11 Years Old
Child Sex Trafficking
This is not the first time I’ve posted about this growing operation. The thing is, we think of it as ‘just prostitution‘ and maybe even in ‘other’ countries only. The reports are that this is United States based also and it’s with an average age of 11 years old…girls…average. You read it right…average age 11.
I’ve included a video that was made to bring awareness to you.
The Jubilee Project states:
“The Jubilee Project produced this film to give voice to the millions of children who are forced and manipulated into child sex trafficking every year. This film was inspired by the real injustices that children have to face, even in the United States. The goal of this film is to empower viewers to learn more about this important cause and to take action to help end sex trafficking. Join us in shining a light on this darkness and share this film with others.
By watching this film, you have been given an opportunity to be a voice in your community. Use it. When you share this film with others, let it be a tool to help empower them: hold meetings, organize events, and initiate simple conversations around this issue. Your voice matters in helping to combat this injustice. Learn more about this issue and watch the behind the scenes video here: (http://jubileeproject.org/?p=2287)
Additionally, become a donor to directly help non-profit organizations combat sex trafficking. Through this film, we are partnering with an organization called Odanadi to help them continue to help victims in need. All of the proceeds will go directly to helping the organization end trafficking around the world. To learn more about their organization or to make a donation to them, please go to http://www.odanadi.org.
Finally, stay connected to the Jubilee Project. This is just the beginning of our efforts to shine a bright light on this darkness. We believe that films play a powerful role in combating this issue. To produce these films, we’ll need your continual support and prayers. To follow us, you can:

Donna,
This turns my stomach! Keeping our daughters safe was and is the reason I am at home working, watching them get on and off the school bus each day, being plugged in to their lives and still I pray this type of sickness never touches us. Thanks for sharing this. I’m sharing too!

This is heartbreaking.. I have no idea what to say except that is why I keep very close track of my girls and where they are and what is happening.. and who is in their lives. I pray this stops sometime but I fear it never will.. Thank you for raising awareness. I have shared it on all networks..
I did a series on sexual predators and I’m so glad to see that other people are addressing this issue, too. Thanks so much!

Oh my goodness, that video is sickening and sad. Something so hard to face but something we need to learn more about and understand in order to address and prevent. Thank you for sharing.

CK,
I felt the same way about the video…they did a good job on it to impress us with the depravity of child sex slave trafficking. It certainly causes us to pull our children and grandchildren closer.
Wow! So disgusting! I absolutely despise people who do this stuff to children. It’s sick and excuse my language, but it just really pisses me off more than anything! You know, they put animals to sleep when they are sick. These abusers are sick, evil, disgusting, and worthless, so why don’t we put them down also. I don’t know how much time the people running these operations would get, but the clients I’m guessing probably wouldn’t get as much time. I think I’ve heard child molesters get anywhere between 2-4 years, I won’t swear to that, but that’s what I’ve read. They are never going to stop, they’ve taken so much away from these kids. That to me is just as bad as murdering a child. In some ways it’s almost worse, this little girl is going to have to live with this for the rest of her life and who knows how it is going to effect her as an adult. They may not have taken her life, but they have killed a part of her. Scum bags like this do not deserve to live life to the fullest. If they had even an ounce of remorse I might feel differently, but there isn’t enough remorse to fix the damage they have done to this poor girl and others. Sick! Really sick!

Sarah,
I appreciate your taking the time to write your thoughts. They are honest and deeply felt. My focus personally is making people aware of the molester/rapists that trash a child. Children are so vulnerable…I can see why Jesus said that those who hurt those little ones have a punishment coming that will make them wish they had a millstone tied around their neck. If more people are educated and stand up to this, we’ll make a change in laws and penalties.
Thanks for your input!
